Structural & Civil Engineering in Cumbria & Windermere

Membership of the Chartered Institute of Structural Engineers ensures our work and processes are implemented to the highest global standards. Integrating architecture and design with engineering ensures a balanced approach to development implementation.

We always seek to minimise the impact of structural load path transfers on a buildings form by intelligent use of loadbearing materials ….sometimes “two heads are better than one” and in the case of materials two smaller elements together can out perform one larger element.. Of course we love the chance to demonstrate our structural design abilities too so our Exoskeletons sometimes make the structure the key architectural element in our schemes.

Our work is incredibly varied, working with local sculptors, reinventing bridge designs and public realm works to multi- unit residential schemes in listed buildings, to new build office parks, retail centres and warehousing.

The co-ordination and planning of enabling works in relation to infrastructure, utilities, highways and environmental improvements is an integral part of our service and ensures co-ordination and compliance amongst complex stakeholder interests.

The location of some of our projects in the Lake District requires a creative approach to site accessibility mindful of transport issues, lifting ability and the presence of skilled labour to assemble component elements. Our experience ensures these issues are accounted for at the design and manufacturing stage long before they become an issue on site.
